Meeting her in September after ten months of this and I am dreading it

Ten months of calls and messages and rules, and in September she is coming to my city for four days. I have thought about this for months and now that it is booked I have mostly gone off the idea.

It is not a safety worry. We have talked on video hundreds of times, I know exactly who she is, other people know she is coming. It is that ten months of anticipation is a lot to put on four days, and I keep imagining us running out of things to say by Friday lunchtime.

Did this after fourteen months. The first two hours were awkward and then it was completely normal, because you already know each other, you have just never been in a room. Book one dull ordinary thing for the first afternoon, a walk or a meal, so the meeting itself is not the event.

Do not plan the four days around the dynamic. That is where people come unstuck. Have one evening of it and let the rest be two people in a city, otherwise you have set up a performance and you will both feel it.
