If airport security wands me and it goes off, what do I actually say?

Flying in September and I have read plenty about whether it sets things off, which seems to be sometimes. What I have not found is what people actually say in the moment.

I am less worried about being stopped than about standing there going red and inventing something, because I am a terrible liar and the truth in a busy queue is not appealing either.
