Nine year old nearly found the drawer and I have not slept since

My son was looking for a phone charger and went into our bedside drawer, which is where everything lives, and my wife caught him about two seconds before he got to the wrong part of it. He is nine. He found the charger, he left, nothing happened.

I have been awake since roughly four in the morning working out how close that actually was and how stupid our storage is. We have been doing this for two years and we have essentially been relying on nobody having a reason to open a drawer.

What do people with kids in the house actually do?
