using a shoestring fix for jailbird issues

Has anyone experimented with this on their jailbird? When my penis becomes erect, the base ring tends to slip downward slightly, crushing my testicles and constricting my shaft as I attempt to achieve a fuller hard-on. To fix this, I threaded a long shoelace through both sides of the base ring so it crossed over the top of my buttocks. After pulling each end tight, I secured them with a neat bow at the front/top of the base ring. This setup holds the ring snug against me and prevents my penis from drifting outward during growth. It remains unclear to me whether this is suitable for long-term wear or if I should replicate it using a metal chain.
