Slipping Out

What’s the right level of tightness for that base ring, really? I just managed to slip out of my 42mm one; and I wasn’t doing anything heavy (like shoveling snow, ugh!), merely sitting at my desk. Coincidentally, I had been asking Steelworxx about switching down to a 40mm size. Now I’m wondering if maybe I should go even smaller with the 38mm? Dietmar can also trim my current tube for a small charge, which sounds like something else I’ll likely do. An 1.5-inch (38mm) ring looks pretty snug…
