This might help some couples where the keyholder is a bit nervous. My wife, who holds my key, has just one main worry about me staying in chastity: she’s anxious that someone outside our relationship will discover this side of our life. She enjoys our private dynamic but would be embarrassed if I were caught in public and it came out. Who knows what scenario might trigger this? An unexpected metal detector scan? A strip search if my friends and I get arrested? Does anyone else have a wife or keyholder with these worries? It’s just a shrug to me, though she seems more concerned than I am. Here is the solution she devised so she can rest easy. There is a spare key sealed inside an envelope in my car’s glove compartment. She placed the key into an envelope, taped it shut, and sketched a picture over the flap on the back of the envelope. (It’s a woman’s face with sharp eyes and a wicked grin… haha.) Then she applied a wide strip of clear packing tape across both the drawing and the flap. I cannot open that envelope without ruining the sketch. She also took a photo of the drawing with her iPhone for reference. There is no way I could tear it open, use the key, put it in a new envelope, and redraw the picture so perfectly that it would look unchanged; the new sketch wouldn’t match the old one exactly. The envelope sits in my glove box ready for emergencies. Technically, I could rip it open and take the key, but she’d know if I did without permission. She checks on the envelope occasionally to ensure it remains sealed. This was her idea. Personally, I don’t care much for that safety net of a spare key in the glove compartment; I try to ignore its existence. I prefer feeling totally helpless with no access to any kind of key at all. But she feels better knowing it’s there “just in case.” So if that brings her peace, then we do it. Bonus fun: I asked her to send me the photo of her drawing showing off her “mean face,” and now my phone displays this picture whenever she calls! Har! Perhaps your keyholder is nervous too.
