Dollyanne has been wearing a hot-pink cb-2000 chastity for nearly a year now, but has been saving up from her allowance for the next stepa steel chastity. Finally, dolly had saved enough, and the opportunity came when offered to make dolly a custom steel chastity! Why steel versus the plastic cb-xxxx models? Dolly had been looking at the cb-6000s because of the smaller cage and felt that it could be her next device, but was concerned about several things. Plastic has to be sanded to get rid of mold pits and imperfections. Dolly spent hours doing this for the 2000. The glued seams—especially on the 6000 series—were notorious for splitting, sometimes with quite disastrous consequences including bruising and cutting! A number of people reported going through several devices and having them ALL split! Also, the plastic is thicker and bulkier than steel, which is not good for a sissy gurl desiring a smooth front. And, of course, steel is unyielding and more difficult to escape from, while with a device like the cb-xxxx series all you have to do is cut the pins with side-cutters. Dolly is jumping ahead, but look at the difference between the A ring on the Maturemetal device and dolly’s pink cb-2000. The cb is much thicker and, compared to the Maturemetal ring, is like straddling a log! This made a significant difference in the comfort of the Maturemetal device. On the negative side, steel is heavier than plastic and the weight could be an issue, although dolly found out it was not a significant issue for the model she chose. Also, if you are the do-it-yourself type, you may find plastic easier to work with if, for example, you wanted to shorten the cage or make other modifications. This was not an issue for dollyanne, as she has no skill whatsoever to work with either plastic or metal. Maturemetal was quite gracious and responsive in answering dolly’s many—and often dumb—questions, but dolly wanted to understand what she would be getting and also increase the probably that everything would fit. Luckily, dolly had considerable experience with the cb-2000—ring and spacer sizes, for example—and knew what she wanted. This gave dollyanne an advantage over those who were ordering chastity for the first time. The first decision dolly had to make was which model to get of the six models offered by Maturemetal. At first, dolly was leaning toward either the “Watchful Mistress” (named after Mistress Watchful, founder of the community), or closed cage model, but finally opted to go with the “Jailbird” open cage model for hygienic and weight reasons. It seemed like it would be easier to keep clean than the closed cage and the Watchful Mistress seemed a little too masculine looking and heavy for dollyanne. Having decided on the model, dolly then worked on the dimensions—the ring size, gap size, cage length, and inner cage diameter. Getting a custom sized chastity felt really empowering and fun to dolly! Dolly spent a lot of time on this step. The “A” ring was the easiest decision. Dolly had gone through several “A” rings with the cb-2000, going from 2” in diameter to 1 7/8”, to 1 3/4” as dolly’s skin stretched with use. Dolly knew that a 1.75” ring would work. (If you don’t know your ring size, Maturemetal offers a ring sizing kit for determining this. Dollyanne didn’t need it, as she already knew her size.) The only question was whether it should be round or oval—the two ring shape options offered by Maturemetal. Round was working for dolly on the 2000 (round being the only option), so dolly was inclined to go with that. But, Maturemetal recommended going with the oval ring. The oval ring is made by starting with a round ring of the specified size—1.75” in this case—and “squashing” it slightly. Dolly’s initial concern was that anything smaller than 1.75” in the vertical dimension would be too tight so she was a little apprehensive about the oval option. The gap size was a little more difficult. On the cb-2000 dolly had dropped down to a 1/4” spacer, so that seemed like the way to go, although dolly thought it might be a little too tight on the steel device because the thickness of the Maturemetal ring was smaller than the 2000 by 1/8”. Maturemetal suggested going with a 3/8” gap since that’s what the majority of his customers were happy with. One of dolly’s concerns was whether the gap was consistent from the top to the bottom. (Dolly found out when she got the device that the gap was narrow at the top and widened a little toward the bottom. This turned out to actually be a good thing for both security and comfort.) The inner cage diameter was normally 1.5”, same as the 2000, but dolly was wondering if she should go with a slightly larger diameter, say 1.6”, because of her thickness. (When flaccid, dolly measures almost exactly 1.5” in diameter.) Maturemetal felt that this would not be a significant difference. Dolly finally agreed, since the 2000 was 1.5” in diameter and seemed to be working fine. Dolly was concerned that the closed cage model would be too tight, since it only came in a 1.5” diameter, but the open cage model would give a little room for horizontal expansion, just like on the 2000. The cage length decision was probably the most difficult. Dolly felt it should be smaller than the cb-2000, which was 2.5” in length, but how much smaller? The cb-2000 actually allowed dolly to get a 63% erection, which sometimes enabled dolly to have a squirtie inside the chastity. This seemed to defeat one of the purposes of chastity, which is to constrain erections and prevent orgasm. Dolly reasoned that the erection inside the chastity should be 30%-40% of a full erection. This is about the case for a cb-2000 at 2.5” if you consider an average penis size of about 6”. For dolly, this meant the cage should be around 1.6” in length. Since the smallest size offered by Maturemetal was 1.5”, dolly decided to go with that. This would give an erection size of about 37.5%! Dolly agonized over the size, wondering if it would be too small, but she reasoned that the gap would add an additional 1/4” along with the 1/4” of the A ring, so the total erection measured from the base would be about 2”. Still, dolly was worried about this small size, and Maturemetal said he had never made one this small before, so this would be a first. (As it turned out, dolly probably could have gone even smaller to a 1” cage if it had been available, but dolly didn’t know that at the time.) One other thing dolly was concerned about for the Jailbird model was whether the horizontal bars should be on the inside or the outside of the device. According on reviewer, with the vertical bars on the inside, the tip of the penis (itself vertical) would get “caught” on one of the vertical bars and cause some discomfort or even pain. Dolly had experienced something like this with the cb-2000, so she was aware of this problem. Maturemetal said that Aarkeybabble was the only one who ever complained about this. Nevertheless, it was something dolly was concerned about and Maturemetal said he could do it. So, dolly finally placed her order as follows: Jailbird model

A reflection of dolly’s pink satin sheets. The gadget arrived with a high polish! It also felt quite sturdy, smooth both inside and out. (Dolly was worried about this because the cb-2000 wasn’t like that; it felt somewhat flimsy and had several rough spots that needed sanding.) When it got here, dolly was so keen to put it on she skipped her usual check of dimensions and such. The only thing dolly spotted was that the horizontal bars were outside, NOT inside as requested. Dolly was a bit let down but not overly concerned. Maybe it would work out okay. Dolly slipped the gadget into the bath without any lubricant and was surprised at how easily it went on. She wore it for four days continuously with NO issues! It felt wonderful and looked unnoticeable under dollyanne’s panties. The cause turned out to be an injury from the cb-2000 that dolly knew about. So, all dolly had to do was reattach the gadget and ensure the ring wasn’t sitting over that tender spot. While the device was off she checked it visually and took measurements. All the numbers—the A ring, cage, and length were correct. The gap between the A ring and the cage measured 1/4 inch at the top and about 3/8 inch at the bottom. This didn’t match what we had discussed (i.e., the dimension being consistent from top to bottom), but for dolly this was a perfect outcome. It ensured the gadget sat snugly without applying too much pressure to the bottom of dollyanne’s tessies. Also, the A ring did not look oval. To dolly it looked round, which differed from what was ordered. However, this was fine as dolly was used to the round A ring on the 2000 and wasn’t worried about it. (The truth is dolly had been concerned that if the vertical dimension of an oval were less than 1.75 inches, it would be too tight.) Another interesting point was that several of dolly’s locks wouldn’t fit the gadget. Maturemetal cut the hole for the lock shackle very precisely so the lock fits quite tightly. Dolly had told him not to worry about shipping a lock because she already had some, but that turned out to be an error. Not all locks are actually 1/8” in shank size as claimed. The pink one shown (dolly got it for 99 cents at a travel store!) fit quite well though. Dolly suggests getting the lock that Maturemetal provides with the gadget due to its precise fit. (And, also to have the edges smoothed if possible. Maturemetal did this later for dolly and it worked out great!) Around this time dollyanne began having a twisting issue with the device. It would twist all the way to the right. [attachment=1342:130_3055.jpg] (Note: objects in mirrors may appear larger than they really are!) At first, this wasn’t a major problem as it slid the lock out of the way to make the front flatter, and it didn’t matter anymore whether the horizontal bars were inside or outside since they became diagonal. However, after a couple of days the sharp edge of the lock began irritating dolly’s tessies. It became clear to dolly that the device wouldn’t work well for long-term use with this issue. Dolly tried many things to stop the twisting—with and without lubrication, moving the lock from right to left side, putting it on initially twisted to the left—however nothing seemed to help. The device still twisted. Through back-and-forth correspondence with Maturemetal we explored several possibilities for what could be causing it, including pressure on the lock from clothing, the slightly slanted C ring, or the A ring not aligning properly with the B ring. Finally, Maturemetal believed it was the A ring alignment and said he could fix that. Dollyanne sent the device back and Maturemetal turned it around in just 4 days! The C ring was straighter and the A ring had changed slightly, though dolly couldn’t be sure how much change there was. He also sent dolly a lock with polished edges. Dolly was very pleased because the lock fit snugly. (Some people might not like a sideways lock, but for dolly it works well since a straight hanging lock would sit looser and present more of a bulge on the short chastity. This might differ on a longer model.) Anyway, the device worked better initially, then started twisting again. Dolly found a way to put it on with the A ring pointing slightly left and with a bit of skin pinched between the A and B rings that seemed to help. During this time Maturemetal came up with several other ideas for modifying the gadget to stop the twisting. He was genuinely concerned that it work properly for dollyanne. One involved making the lock sit straight rather than sideways, but the disadvantage would be a looser fit. Dolly prefers a tighter lock. Another idea was adding side posts to prevent the twisting. Maturemetal had this concept originally to prevent pullout but noted it also stopped twisting. (Dollyanne likes how Maturemetal is always generating ideas for improvements!) However, the downside is it could cause pinching. Dollyanne was reluctant to send the device back again so she wanted to work with it more to see if a way could be found to keep it straight. Eventually dolly discovered that without lubrication and when put on in a certain way in the bath, the device would actually stay straight. The only thing dolly can think of is there was something about her anatomy combined with the smallness of the gadget causing the twisting. Dolly now seems adjusted to it; while it may twist occasionally, it’s no longer a major problem! During that time it worked well, stayed straight, wasn’t painful, and dollyanne was reluctant to take it off! Dollyanne drove in her car with it on, went mall shopping, and took several long walks with it, which is a real test of functionality for dolly (the cb-2000 failed this test!). Dolly wore it under both stretchy and tight panties without issue or an unsightly bulge, likely due to the small size. Dollyanne sleeps in it regularly and often wakes up wanting strongly to rub her nipples and legs and feel the expansion and restraint of the tiny chastity in her panties! Dolly doesn’t want to remove it! Another thing dolly is especially happy about is how the short length has prevented orgasm in the device (it was very easy for dolly to have a little squirtie in the cb-2000 after several days). That said, however, dolly recently had a small “discharge” after two months without relief. It felt much like a girlie full-body orgasm with goosebumps all over and lasted longer than usual. ly suspects that nothing would entirely prevent this if there is enough time of denial and build-up. One or two months without a squirtie is probably a reasonable amount of time. Even so, if dolly gets another Maturemetal chastity she may try to talk Maturemetal into an even shorter one—say one inch in length to see if it extends the time! So, to summarize: Pros:

• The Maturemetal device is high quality polished steel—no sanding of sharp edges or imperfections necessary!
• The A ring of the Maturemetal device is MUCH thinner than dolly’s old cb-2000, making it much more comfortable to wear and well as easier to keep clean.
• Unlike dolly’s cb-2000, a custom device can be sized to fit, hence dolly’s ability to get a 1.5” cage length, which makes for a less obtrusive front than the bulkier cb-2000!
• It appears to prevent orgasm in the device for a longer period of time than dolly’s cb-2000.
• Steel is harder to casually escape from.
• Maturemetal is a member of our community and is sensitive to our needs, plus, in dolly’s experience, is friendly, responsive, and easy to work with. And, he has a pretty fast turn-around time. Cons:
• Metal is heavier than plastic and will pull downward more. (This needs to be considered in sizing and may also cause stretching over time that will affect the size.)
• The Maturemetal device is hand-crafted so there will be an occasional irregularity here and there such as the asymmetry dolly had in the A and C rings. The good news is that Maturemetal is willing to work with the customer to make whatever adjustments are needed.
• If this is your first chastity device (and, maybe even if it’s not) it might be easy to get the sizing wrong, and if the sizing changes over time due to stretching skin you may need to send the device back for adjustment. The good news here is that Maturemetal offers a set of sizing rings, should you need them, and has been very responsive in making adjustments. According to Maturemetal, the ring size and gap are relatively easy things to change, but the cage length and diameter are not. So, be sure to spend extra time to get the cage sizing right! Unlike the cb-2000, dolly could see wearing the maturemetal chastity for a month or more regularly without release, with shaving being the main reason for release. So far at least, it doesn’t seem to collect bacteria like the cb-2000, maybe because it’s steel and there is less surface area. Because of this, dolly could see this being a device that would possibly justify her having a keyholder! Though cautious dolly certainly needs more adjustment time before considering such a radical idea! So, would dollyanne recommend Maturemetal? Absolutely! Dolly hopes to be able to buy another device again when funds permit. Where else can you get a STEEL chastity of this quality that is custom-fitted for you at this price? And where else could you get the rapid turnaround and willingness to make the necessary adjustments to get the device right? At the moment, Maturemetal is a delightful rarity in the chastity market. dollyanne
