These are… Individually machined from solid Delrin, or gun plastic. No molding or pressforming involved, which means no seams to split. The material can be shaped with sandpaper and is non-reactive; it has FDA approval for food processing equipment that comes into direct contact with food. Pins made of flexible 1/8” buna material are installed after the member passes through the device, manipulated forward as they’re pushed in. These pins are customizable—you can shorten them or leave any combination out entirely. Some users find it works best to shorten them so only about 1/8” protrudes from the center hole. Once the cage is installed, it blocks the removal of the pins. The padlock pin also passes through the top of the device, preventing its own removal. One advantage of this security insert style is that greater constriction is possible since the pins are pushed in after the member, effectively shrinking the diameter post-installation. Additionally, more constriction can be tolerated without restricting urine flow or causing edema. (Think of water flowing through a grate.) The outward angle of the pins causes them to close inward when you try to pull out, similar to how a Chinese finger trap works. Finally, it is highly customizable by the end user; simply shorten or leave out any pin in any of the eight positions as needed. There are different versions for the CB3000/curve and for the CB6000.
