After testing the CB-6K and several Chinese metal options, I feel prepared to order a custom piece. The standard cages haven’t quite worked for me, and the stainless steel quality leaves something to be desired for long-term use (even those marketed as “100% polished” have started showing rust).

For various reasons, the Contender by Male Chastity Now appeals to me most. However, I need some guidance on measurements. Any advice or suggestions for achieving the best fit would be welcome.

Inner Diameter The metal cage I currently wear is 1 3/8 inches and feels perfect at my smallest size. It’s small enough to prevent sliding but remains very comfortable. When aroused, however, it gets tight and occasionally uncomfortable. MCN’s sizing instructions recommend choosing a diameter that is 1/8 inch smaller than your erect girth. My erect measurement is 1 3/4 inches, which points to a 1 5/8 inner diameter suggestion. But when flaccid, I measure only about 1 3/8. I worry that 1 5/8 might be too wide, making the cage loose and prone to sliding down.

Should I stick with 1 3/8 to keep it secure while flaccid? Or leave a little extra space for growth?

Length I am 4 inches when flaccid, but I find that the weight of any device pulls them lower than ideal. If I wear just my 1/4-inch base ring and let it sit naturally, I measure 3 1/2 inches from ring to tip (or 3 3/4 including the ring’s width). I want to go as short as possible, but shorter cages can be painful when aroused. Being about 7 inches erect pushes the cage far out and stretches my scrotum significantly.

Should I try a shorter length, like 3 1/2 inches, so it feels snug while hanging normally? Or keep some room at the end?

Base Ring My current ring is round with a 1 3/4 inner diameter. For daily wear, it’s comfortable and tight enough to prevent excessive sliding, though night erections can be slightly painful. I think going up to 1 7/8 inches makes sense, but many people suggest oval rings are more comfortable. I haven’t found much info on sizing round vs. oval rings, so I’m curious about others’ experiences.

Should I switch to an oval ring and size up to 1 7/8, or would a 1 3/4 oval be likely more comfortable than my current 1 3/4 round one?
