Introductions discussion

I’ve been watching the discussions here for a while and finally signed up recently. It seems like time to introduce myself now.:) I am 33 years old, residing in Wisconsin. I have to admit that the concept of wearing a chastity device is still quite new to me. Actually, I already have one coming (a Birdlock), and it should arrive within the next week. However, I do have a question for which someone here might provide an answer. I’ve tried looking online but haven’t found what I need yet; my Google skills are lacking.:D So, what should newcomers understand? I suspect it isn’t just something you put on and then ignore entirely. As a beginner, what signs of trouble should I watch for? What can I anticipate? My long-term aim is to wear it around the clock. For now, my immediate goal is wearing it during daylight hours while my wife is away. Should I begin with short periods? Will there be pain initially? And so on. Thanks beforehand! m.
